Who we are
Built on hands-on engineering experience and strong business leadership, Joblin Engineering began with a decision to do things properly.
After years working across rural Canterbury and in heavy industry in Australia and New Zealand, Gareth brought practical engineering skill and real-world experience. Renee brought systems, quality and continuous improvement expertise from senior roles in engineering environments. Together, we set out to build a company that delivers high-quality work and stands behind it.
Since starting in Rolleston in 2017, we’ve grown steadily — not by chasing everything, but by doing good work, building trust and backing our word.
We specialise in precision steel fabrication, structural component build-ups and custom engineered solutions for rural, industrial and commercial clients. Our workshop produces reliable, site-ready steel assemblies that support plant infrastructure and construction projects.
Team culture matters here. We’ve built a skilled, dependable crew who take pride in their work. We’re genuinely grateful for our team — because without good people, you don’t have a sustainable business. Quality, accountability and respect on the workshop floor translate directly into the standard of work our clients receive.
We’re also committed to our wider community. Gareth serves as a volunteer firefighter with Fire and Emergency New Zealand, and we support that role when duty calls. We are suppliers for Upstream, helping contribute to positive outcomes for young people through our supply chain. We’ve also been Gold for sustainability award with the Selwyn Responsible Business Network, recognising our commitment to responsible business practices.
At the end of the day, we’re straightforward about what we do: we deliver solid engineering work, we stand behind it, and we build long-term relationships doing it.
